Description
[edit | edit source]Praios is the archon of the Twelvegod pantheon.
In the shape of the sun, Praios crosses the sky each and every day in his path destined by eternal order. All of the griffins still remaining on Dere are under his allegiance. The temples devoted to Praios impress with a magnificent and sumptuous décor, but are usually only found within the greater cities and not in the more rural areas. The cult of Praios is prevalent within the nobility, but since the spread of the Blacklands, his worship has increased within the commonalty, too. The cult is rather deprecatory concerning magic.
The worship of Praios is mainly restricted to the areas inhabited by descendants of the gyldenlandic settlers. But even there, his worship is less common in places which suffered most severely under the rule of the Priest-Kings, for example the Duchy of Meadows and the Bornland. There, Rondra may be the most worshipped deity, although Praios is still referred to as the King of Gods.
The first month in the most common legal year is called the Praios moon.
In alchemy, the element of fire is assigned to Praios.
