Description
[edit | edit source]Helme Haffax was considered the most brilliant military leader and strategist in Aventuria. Coming from humble beginnings, Haffax served his squire's apprenticeship at the Darpatian court before making a name for himself in the suppression of the Tuzak Riots and then embarking on a highly successful military career. He served under Middenrealm rulers Reto, Haal and Brin, eventually becoming Arch Marshal and later Prince Marshal of Maraskan. One of his most notable tactics was the Boron Wheel.
When Borbarad returned, Haffax betrayed the Middenrealm and became commander of the Demon Master's army. Through a pact with Azfuloth, he was able to stop the aging process, and after the Third Demon Battle, he came into possession of the Belhalhar shard of the Demon Crown, becoming one of the Heptarchs and ruling over the Prince Commandery, which had included the Pirate Coast since 1029 FB. With several archdemons fighting for his soul, he was prone to spontaneous rage and bloodlust.
He faked his death in Talbruck Castle in Travia 1037 BF, but then led an invasion of his army into Perricum and Gareth in 1039 BF.
