Description

[edit | edit source]

The harbour town Selem in the south lies at the mouth of the Szinto river in the Selem Sound. Previously part of the Caliphate, the city was occupied by Al'Anfa during the Khôm War. Today it is an independent city-state. A special feature is the library of Old Elem. On several islands at the mouth of the Szinto are trading centres named after the merchants' home ports. Humans and lizard folk coexist in this city as it is also home to a tribe of Achaz. The town and the surrounding area are the last place where Zelemja is still spoken.

The former metropolis and trading centre is scarred by a meteorite impact that destroyed large parts of the ancient Sultanate of Elem and its capital in 106 b. FB. The ruins of Old Elem still surround the inhabited parts of the city today.

The imaginary line Selem - Drôl marks the border to the steaming jungles of the south.

Temples
Boron (Al'Anfan rite), Hesinde, Peraine/Tsa, Satuaria/Satinav; Rastullah (outside the city); several diverse secret temples to gods and idols
Education
