Description
[edit | edit source]The Eternans and the bordering High Eternans in the north environ the Khôm Desert and the Shadif in the east from the Horasian Empire, Arratistan and Chababistan in the west. The High Eternans are up to 5,000 paces high, the Erternans only up to 4,000 paces. While the mountain range is seperated from the Golden Cliffs by the important trade route of the Kabash Gap in the north, it drops into an hill country in the south near Selem. The two ranges of Eternans are seperated by antother pass, the Pass of Molgard.
The mountain range is an important factor of the climate of the region. The windward areas in the west are more humid, the leeward areas in the east are drier. Furthermore formative are the jagged cliffs, pinnacles and iced mountain tops as well as densely wooded hillsides in the south of the Eternans.
The mountain range is almost inhabited by humans except for an hidden monastery of the Tarisharim, an order of Hadjinim. It is said that giant wyrms reside in the Eternans. The emperor dragon Shafir rules over the High Eternans from his hoard in the north of the mountains.
The highest and most impressive mountain of the Eternans is the almost 4,000 paces high Djer Larkashmi. The highest mountain top of the High Eternans is the more than 5,000 paces high Djer Chuzach. The High Eternans are a limestone rock mass and thus there can be found (like in the Eternans) much marble. The Pink Eternan Marble is especially popular in the Fairfield and the church of Rahja and it is used for pompous buildings.
