Description

A Sultan (f. sultana) is a Tulamydian ruler who governs a sultanate and whose title literally means "ruler" in the Tulamidyan language; it roughly corresponds to a prince in the Middenrealm. In the Caliphate, a sultan leads a tribal realm under the higher authority of the caliph, while in Arania a sultana is directly subordinate to the royal couple and has emirs as her vassals.
